    The Bar Council of India has decided to issue notice to the M.Ps, M.L.As and M.L.Cs who are doing Legal practice in various courts of the country in order to invite their comments. The legislators are to furnish their comments on the representation filed by petitioner Mr. Ashwani Upadhyay within a period of one week from today.

    The Sub-Committee of the Council which consists of Mr. B.C. Thakur, Mr. R.G. Shah, Mr. D.P. Dhal and Mr. S. Prabhakaran has thought it proper to invite the comments of the Learned M.Ps/M.L.As/M.L.Cs (who are in legal profession) before taking any final decision in the matter with regard to ban on their practice.

    The notice is published on the website of Bar Council of India. This apart the known practicing Advocates/Sr. Advocates would also be sent the personal notice for their comments. The copy of representation filed by Mr. A. Upadhyay is also published on website. The Council requests the M.Ps/M.L.As and M.L.Cs to furnish their comments within a week. The Council will meet on 22nd January, 2018 to take final decision.
