President, Vice President commend BCI attention to legal education

Her Excellency, the President of India, Pratibha Devisingh Patil commended the Bar Council of India’s focus on legal education in India. In a letter to the Chairman of the Bar Council of India, Shri Gopal Subramanium on 14 June 2010, she said that such a focus on legal education was important because “our future generation of lawyers, their capacity as trustees of justice for us all, apart from being sound practitioners of law, need to be also imbued with high standards of probity, rectitude and public service.”

His Excellency, the Vice President of India, M Hamid Ansari wrote to Gopal Subramanium, recommending the vigorous promotion of legal education and professional ethics and expressed confidence that these issues will receive attention during his tenure.
