     Invitation for Architectural Services – Bar Council of India Building Renovation Project

    The Bar Council of India (Statutory Body under Advocates Act, 1961) invites experienced and licensed architects to submit proposals for the renovation of the iconic Bar Council of India Building at 21, Rouse Avenue Institutional Area, New Delhi- 110002. This project aims to rejuvenate the building while preserving its historical significance. The selected architect will play a pivotal role in transforming the structure into a modern and functional space that meets contemporary standards.

     

    Scope of Work:

    The appointed architect will oversee the entire renovation project, including but not limited to:

    1. Initial Design Phase: Analyzing the current state of the building, understanding requirements, and conceptualizing design improvements.
    1. Preliminary Designs and BOQ Preparation: Developing detailed preliminary designs, collaborating with stakeholders, and preparing a comprehensive Bill of Quantity (BOQ).
    1. Contractor Engagement and Tendering: BCI shall invite qualified contractors for the tendering process based on the architect’s BOQ.
    1. Tender Document Preparation: Creating detailed architectural and technical specifications, project scope, timeline, and terms and conditions.
    1. Review and Evaluation of Tenders: Thoroughly evaluating tenders based on technical expertise, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to project requirements and advising BCI in this regard.
    1. Contractor Selection and Vendor Appointment: Providing expert opinion which will help BCI in selecting the contractor that aligns with project goals and budget and establishing contractual agreements.
    1. Project Execution and Quality Assurance: Supervising construction to ensure adherence to approved designs, specifications, and timelines.
    1. Continuous Communication and Progress Updates: Maintaining transparent communication with stakeholders and providing regular progress updates.

     

    Submission Requirements:

    Interested architects are requested to submit the following:

    1. Detailed portfolio showcasing relevant past projects.
    1. Curriculum vitae highlighting experience in similar renovation projects.
    1. Proposed methodology for the renovation, outlining key steps and approach.
    1. Estimated timeline for project completion after site visit.
    1. Financial proposal for architectural services.

     

    Eligibility Criteria:

    Architects must be certified by the Council of Architecture (COA) and possess a proven track record in overseeing successful renovation projects. Additionally, familiarity with government regulations and compliance procedures is essential.

     

    Submission Deadline:

    All proposals must be submitted by email at bcibuildingrenovation@gmail.com by 28th August, 2023 to THE SECRETARY, BAR COUNCIL OF INDIA, 21, ROUSE AVENUE, INSTITUTIONAL AREA, NEW DELHI-110002.  Hardcopies should follow the emails.
